Habits and behaviours of the Puffins

The sea parrots eat fish and shellfish. For all their life they live in colonies on the open sea and throughout their evolution they have developed a common language, that they use mainly during the coupling season:
The body stays in a horizontal position, the feathers puffed up and the beak open towards a rival mean a menace;
The speed walking and with bent head means they’re asking for forgiveness;
Landing in the middle of a group of the same colony means reconciliation;
A stiff carriage and a “march like” walk in front of the nest is a way to mark the territory.
