On the peninsula of Reykjanes, by Keflavík, there’s Leifur Eiríksson, the international airport of Iceland, that is 50’ away form the capital. Considering the geological structure of this land, it may sound weird that the airport was built on the youngest area of the island, where there are cracks and craters one after the other and where eruptions are frequent!

It is anyway outstanding that a nation as Iceland, that counts about 300.000 inhabitants, may boast its own air company, the Icelandair, that with an excellent organization grants connections with Europe and North America.
