Spring anniversaries and celebrations in Iceland

March- April:
l Easter: this is celebrated with a dinner, main dish is smoked lamb, and the traditional excahnge of Easter eggs.
April:
l Sumardagurrinn Fyrsti: on the first Thursday after April 18th, Iceland celebrates the first day of the sub- arctic summer- there are parades, passing of groups and aprties similar to those done for the Carnival.
