The religious disputes of the Icelandic History

Around the year 1000, the people of Iceland was divided between two religions: the ancient polytheist religion of the first Scandinavian settlers and the new Christian religion.
The Alþing intervened to settle the first quarrels: the Parliament declared that Iceland would adhere to the Christian religion, allowing anyway anybody to practice his own creed, also the ancient one.
