turist walk on n1 roadTo explore the Icelandic wild areas and enjoy it, you must be able to move on irregular grounds, therefore you need trekking or mountain shoes, made of warm and transpiring material, with anti-skid soles, suitable for snowy or iced grounds. Shoes must also be resistant against thermal range, as it might happen that you have to walk on glaciers and on volcanic grounds the same day. Watch out also about socks: it’s better if they’re in transpiring fabric that dries quickly.
It can also be very useful to have the Nordic walking sticks: there are many kind of these sticks available on the market, in different materials.
